WA SETLIST ANNOUNCED - VOTING FOR OTHER SHOWS CONTINUES...

Alrighty folks, as you no doubt already know, the Choose Your Own Adventure Tour is Gyroscope's only headline run for 2011 and this time the band are giving you (the fans) the chance to decide which songs will be performed live. It is all been going down at the Gyroscope Facebook and now we're pleased to announced the first round of results - the setlist for the Western Australian shows that will set sail in a most exciting way next week.

First though, let us remind you of the dates. Tickets are selling fast as eager Gyro devotees secure their chance to catch these very rockin' once in a lifetime performances...

GYROSCOPE have sent fans into a tail-spin over the past month, announcing surprise tour dates for October and November and revealing on announcement a novel concept to ensure these are once-in-a-lifetime performances. The CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE TOUR is Gyroscope’s one and only headline tour for the whole of 2011 and it’s all about giving the stalwart fans something special in return for years of dedication. You got it; this time around the fans dictate the setlist for all shows via a special public vote.

Indeed, the great song vote for the Choose Your Own Adventure Tour is already in full swing. The song poll is causing a riot amongst excited fans determined to have their favourite tunes get a rare live airing. If you’re not already a fan of Gyroscope on Facebook, visit www.facebook.com/gyroscopemusic, click the “questions” tab in the left-hand column and cast your vote. This is critical stuff; have your voice heard now as well as at the shows, screaming along the words to every song.

Now to announce the steadfast support acts for the Choose Your Own Adventure Tour. Holding Gyroscope’s back as main support at home in WA will be impressive newcomers WOLVES, who've recently sharpened their teeth on a huge national tour with Dead Letter Circus, and have some tasty triple j play between their claws. Equally exciting news is that main support duties on the east coast adventure will be taken up by impressive rock peddlers CLOSURE IN MOSCOW, who have taken a leaf out of Gyroscope’s book when it comes to fever-inducing live shows. The quartet have returned triumphant from their US jaunts and busied themselves recording in Melbourne. Expect big things from their notoriously entrancing performances. Last but by absolutely no means least, Adelaide’s own bombastic rock upstarts CITY RIOTS will warm the stage on all east coast shows, fresh of several national tours and ready to give fans a sneak peek at their brand new EP.

With votes now rolling in, the response to the CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE TOUR has already been ecstatic; the Geraldton date is already SOLD OUT and licensed ALL AGES shows for Adelaide and Sydney are selling fast. Tickets for all shows are on sale now, and with the promise of some truly diverse setlists, all dates are likely to be a sell-out before the weather begins to turn. The adventure really and truly starts right now.

Song voting for the Choose Your Own Adventure Tour starts today!

Alright valued Gyro-friends, today marks the day you've no doubt been waiting eagerly for. Since the announcement of Gyroscope's novel Choose Your Own Adventure Tour we have been promising that you fans will be the deciders of which songs are to be played live.

We think that you have had enough time to pull out your old Gyro records (in addition to the newer ones!), re-learn the words and choose which you most want to see performed. So voting starts today. There could be some real surprises in there.

Simply head to Gyroscope’s Facebook page and click on the “Questions” tab in the left column. There it is, in all it’s lengthy glory the list for you to vote from. You can choose as many songs as you would like, and if we have missed anything you are able to add songs too.

Welcome! You may have noticed that some mysterious new Gyroscope tour dates made their way onto the Gyro web pages this week. They are a surprise from us to you, and we're stoked to announce that they are a part of the CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE TOUR. Not only is the the Gyros ONLY headline tour for 2011, it's a pretty wild concept. Dare to read further and all will be revealed...

Come October and November Gyroscope will pack their back catalogue into the van and embark on an exciting and unpredictable adventure. An adventure where fans (you) dictate the next step, choosing the tour setlist via public vote. No limits, no boundaries, no holds barred. Got a killer old Gyro song you have been dying to hear for years? Here is your chance, this is the time.

The voting process will be conducted via Facebook. So to get involved make sure you ‘like’ www.facebook.com/gyroscopemusic and we'll update you on when the great song selection is to begin. Plenty of time to re-learn the words to songs and maybe even get into any Gyroscope records you don't already know from back to front.

Ever since the Big Day Out and Groovin' the Moo tours wound up the Gyroscope lads have been having a bit of a break. But now they are suffering itchy fingers and restless voices, eager to once again present their fierce live show for welcoming crowd. Careering through Western Australia for the first four shows in late October, followed by a short east coast headline stint in November. The band have even managed to squeeze in some rare licensed all ages shows in Sydney and Adelaide.

So get voting, suggest songs, show your friends and enjoy the shows. The CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE TOUR is about Gyroscope, but most importantly it is about all of you wonderful fans. Welcome to the July news from Gyroscope

Hail loyal Gyro-fiends! It has been a while since our last news update so we thought we would drop you a line to tell you what has been happening in the land of Gyroscope. As it turns out, the boys are having a well deserved break but are no doubt beginning to itch for some time on-stage doing what they do best.

Two of the boys have been doing a spot of traveling in their time off, while others have been enjoying some well deserved home time since wrapping up their last tour on the national Groovin' the Moo Festival in April & May. Meanwhile, Dan & Zok lined up last month to play a special acoustic set at the Boomers vs. China basketball match at Perth's Challenge Stadium. They played a tasty short little set that included Baby, I'm Gettin' Better, Fifty500 and more.

Gyroscope March News

Welcome to the March news from

Welcome to the month of March friends of Gyroscope. 2011 is slipping away slowly already, so let's get right into the good stuff....

Gyroscope took off to the east coast last month for some very massive and sweaty headline shows in Frankston and Ferntree Gully. These were Gyroscope's last headline shows in the Melbourne area for some time, so we hope you got your fix if you managed to make it along! Heck, one lucky lady was even proposed to during the Ferntree Gully show, so they must have been inspiring shows! Congratulations to the lucky couple from all at Gyro HQ.

Next up, Gyro's took off to sunny Launceston for their long awaited MS Fest performance. Hitting the stage amongst some of Australia's very finest live acts, Gyroscope really held their own (in fact, we heard they were the highlight of the day) Check out some of the action in the MS Fest highlights video at www.msfest.com.au

Now Adelaide, it's your turn next! The Gyro juggernaut is coming your way tomorrow night, with the band poised for a loud and rockin' set at the annual Clipsal 500 after race concert. Well, in some exciting news that is not related to touring (sometimes we get carried away and think there is nothing else!) the very talented lads from Gyroscope have been included in the shortlist for the International Songwriting Competition! Yep; Baby, I'm Gettin' Better is up for selection in the ROCK category (of course). Have a look at all the shortlisted artists, many of whom are Australian, right here.

Continuing with the non-touring theme (although this is Big Day Out related...) we thought we would draw your attention to this swell catch up that Brad & Rob had with MTV while on the Big Day Out tour back in January. Rob gets very excited about tour mates Remmstein. Catch this one right here.

Coming up really soon now is the Groovin' the Moo festival tour. These shows are all selling fast so if you're planning to catch the wonderful Gyros on these dates get in quick to secure your spot, And there we go, harping on about touring again...it's all just so exciting all of the time, we can't help it.

Gyroscope February News

Welcome to the February news

Greetings Gyro-fanatics. Welcome to the February news, there is a lot to get in here so let's get right into it...

Tonight Gyroscope will be making quite the racket at Melbourne's Ferntree Gully Hotel, joined by local livewires Fangs. Tomorrow night the four Gyros will be exploding onto stage at Frankston's Pier Live, heading up a similarly tasty bill. There will be some tickets at the door for both of these shows, so if you're in the area (or can get to the area!) be sure to get yourselves down to these shows nice and early. They are likely to be Gyroscope's last Melbourne shows for quite some time, we know that you will miss them.

Gyroscope have already been very busy ripping up stages, and we are not even a third of the way through 2011. Who managed to catch Gyros destroying the Essential Stage at any of the 2011 Big Days Out? This was the guys second trip out with the touring circus and they might have even been better this year than last time around. Crowds were sweaty but undeniably huge and the band pulled out a brilliant mixture of older favourites and newer hits, sending people into a Gyro-tinged friendly. Everybody had a lot of fun.

Amongst Gyroscope's busy Big Day Out schedule were a few interviews. You can see for yourself first hand how everything went down at the Big Day Out, including Brad and Rob discussing meal tickets and inter-band snobbery with Hit List TV. There are also some swell photos over at the Nova website. Big Day Out Gyro-mania - enjoy!

Something else that happened while Gyroscope were gallivanting around with the Big Day Out was triple j's Hottest 100. And what a big list it was this year. Biased as we are we think it would not have been quite so big without the inclusion of Baby, I'm Gettin' Better, which landed at a very awesome #40. Thanks for all the votes folks, check out the full list here. Gyroscope also scored two more songs in the list 100-200, check out all of the songs that ALMOST made it here.

It seems that the mob responsible for the impressive 2011 Groovin' the Moo line-up agree that Gyroscope are on a bit of a roll; the band will be playing every date on the tour! This means that Gyroscope are headed to some regional locations they have not had an opportunity to impress for quite some time. The band will take off to Bendigo, Townsville, Maitland, Canberra and Bunbury. We hear Bendigo has already sold out, so if you are keen to get along to another of the dates be quick and head over to: www.gtm.net.au.

So, thought we might leave you with a bit of an oldie but a goodie this month.
