Welcome to the July News from Gyroscope!

So many things to report this time around Gyrofiends! Tours, singles, videos, photos and a whole swath of Gyroscope goodness to help you claw through winter (or summer, wherever this finds you)

Firstly let us extend our thanks to all the fantastic crowds that well and truly turned it out for Gyroscope's huge Cohesion Tour. By all reports the shows were a mess of sweaty, singing bodies and a truly rockin' time was had by band and fans alike. With some solid backing from supports The Vasco Era and After the Fall, we hope it was well worth to wait to see the Gyro's pull out all the stops (and even some never before heard live album tracks!) For anybody who missed out on Cohesion Tour merch in the thick of it, there will be some items from the tour available at the Official Gyroscope Merch store ( http://www.fist2face.com.au/?gyroscope) in the next week or two. We shall keep you posted.

Jam packed right in the middle of the Cohesion Tour, the Gyro's packed their wares and headed off to Wollongong for the filming of their very exciting Channel [V] Live show. The Waves venue was jam packed with lucky fans who managed to scoop up the winners tickets, and the amazing Channel [V] set made it one special show indeed. We hear the boys even chucked in a sneaky Nirvana cover. Missed out? The show is being aired on Channel [V] a bunch of times this month, head to www.vmusic.com.au for details.

If that is simply not enough of a Gyroscope visual delight for you, fair enough. There is always more. Keeping the live ball rolling (as usual) Gyroscope brought out their show for two special intimate performances in Melbourne and Perth courtesy of Nova. The Melbourne date took place in an aeroplane hanger (and had Dan rockin' it from the wing of a very old plane!) while the Perth show went down at the iconic Astor Theatre. Oh, and now onto live recordings! If you cast your minds back a little earlier in the year you'll remember that Gyroscope played Triple J's annual One Night Stand, this year in Alice Springs. Well, it was aired as Triple J's Live at the Wireless last month. Better strap yourselves in, we have a whole mountain of sweet Gyroscope goodness to heap into your inbox this month.

Yes, finally the much awaited Cohesion Tour will be kicking off in Gyro's home state of WA this weekend! Bunbury is sold out for Saturday night, but there are tickets available for Sunday night at Metro City. As always this show promises to be one rockin' home town event, with local live favourites Break Even in tow (not to mention Kill Teen Angst & Trigger Jackets) it's one big bill. All other Cohesion Tour dates are just around the corner, and tickets are barely clicks away. Simply check out the dates below and click right HERE to purchase.

Elsewhere on the live front, Gyroscope are hitting the stage to headline the annual and utterly enjoyable Come Together Festival in Sydney next Saturday June 12th. With Gyroscope being joined on a bumper bill by the likes of The Butterfly Effect, Strung Out, The Loved Ones, Frenzal Rhomb (plus free rides!) the Luna Park spectacular is going to be a riot. Gyroscope will be making some other festival appearances this year, having just announced both the Time Out Festival for Cairns and the Funk N Grooves Festival in the Hunter Valley. Good news for anybody that happened to miss the live airing of Gyroscope's huge Triple J One Night Stand set this year (how could you?) Music lovers that they are, Triple J will be airing the full set in all it's glory for Live At the Wireless on Monday June 14th. Then, the stunning visuals of the set direct from the red centre will be heating up televisions all over the country as it's aired on ABC2 at 11.00pm on Monday June 21st.

Well, that's certainly not it (a whole galaxy of exciting Gyroscope things out there) but consider this the cream of the crop. That's all we shall be divulging to you this time around. We promise a full Cohesion Tour recap in the next issue of the Gyroscope news. Catch you at the rock show!

Alrighty, the second single from Gyroscope's mighty Cohesion album is coming your way, and it's Baby, I'm Gettin' Better. Taken from the #3 ARIA debuting record Cohesion, Baby I'm Gettin' Better is one of the most uplifting and energising (not to mention downright fun!) tracks from the album. We're sure you already know that already. Gyroscope May News

Welcome to the Gyroscope May News.

Well, things have certainly been stepped up a notch in Gyroscope land during the past month. We here at Gyroscope HQ are super excited by everything that has gone down and is set to go down. All things Gyroscope are now moving forward at a thrilling pace. So here goes...

Gyroscope's fourth album Cohesion has now finally been released far and wide. To celebrate it's release (you might have got wind) the band will be hitting the road on their huge Cohesion Tour. Taking in some very beautiful venues this June, Gyroscope will be taking along Melbourne upstarts The Vasco Era in addition to Sydney stalwarts After the Fall. In a special treat for home-state audiences, local heroes Break Even will take over support duties for WA. The band are ready to bring their famous killer live show to audiences from Bunbury to Canberra. We hear they will be pulling out tracks from Cohesion for the first time alongside well-worn crowd favourites. Tickets are on sale now! Now that Cohesion is stocked up in stores all over the country we trust that you are enjoying it as much as we are! The great news is that Cohesion debuted at a huge #3 on the ARIA charts! It's second week out it held fast at a fairly awesome #10.

April 9th also saw the band play a special acoustic in-store at 78 Record's in Perth. which everybody was very happy with. We have been sent some great photos by fans, and it seems like a good time was had by all. Fasterlouder were kind enough to send along a snapper to capture all the action for those who couldn't be there. All the photos can be found here.

Vinyl not your thing? Perhaps television is...Gyroscope will be appearing on this weeks' episode of the newly returned Hey Hey It's Saturday! The band will be joining the show to play the first single from Cohesion Some of the Places I Know. Keep your eyes on the Hey Hey website later on this week as the band will also be playing a second track just for the live audience. Hey Hey It's Saturday goes live to air this Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9.

Way back in March, as we are sure you all know Gyroscope rocked Alice Springs on the very massive Triple J One Night Stand. Check out this backstage video of the guys that we dug up on the Triple J website over here.

It was announced a couple of weeks back that the second single to be lifted from Cohesion will be Baby, I'm Gettin' Better The lifting rock track should be hitting your radios real soon, so keep your ears out for it. It has just come to our attention that Warner Music are releasing a ‘Best of Gyroscope’ album. We only found out about this release after being notified by our fans on Facebook.

The song selection, artwork and everything about this release has been done without consultation with the band.

Gyroscope are a band who have always put our fans first. In our opinion, the release of this album without consultation with the band, and without including any material from our new album ‘Cohesion’, does not represent good value for our fans.
