Gyroscope.

Some of you might have been wondering where the Gyros have been of late. Well, they have been truly elusive but it turns out they have been flat out writing and work shopping songs for the adventure that will comprise their fourth album.

We finally have some exciting developments for you. Gyroscope are very pleased and excited to announce that the very impressive Gil Norton will be at the producers helm for this record.

Gil is an English producer who has worked with some of the biggest names going around. Based in Brighton, he has produced records for the likes of The Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World, Echo & the Bunnymen, Maximo Park and most recently, fellow WA locals, Eskimo Joe.

Zok and the band are looking forward to working with Gil, here is what he had to say:

"It is an absolute honour to be working with Gil on our all-important 4th record! We've loved his production on some of our favourite records of all time, since day dot- and it's literally a dream come true to have him working on our next record. To say we are excited is a huge understatement."

So, the second part of 2009 will be spent in recording at Rockfield studios in Wales, the same studio that Bohemian Raphsody was recorded at as well as Oasis (whats the Story Morning Glory) All this is in anticiption of preparing for what will be no doubt be a momentous year in 2010.

To keep all you Gyro-nerds out there up to date on what is going down in the studio, the band have set up and brand new blog site. It will feature notes from the band, photos & videos while they are making the record. It will link through from the usual Gyroscope website: www.gyroscope.com.au

The band have also been busy working on new Myspace, Facebook & Twitter layouts for your viewing pleasure. If you're not following already, hop on board. There are bound to be updates from the studio there too, for now here is a picture of Dan in the writing process.

With all of this going on, Dan & Zok managed to find time to stop by Channel 10's The Western Front to play "Australia" off Breed Obsession.

Now, if you happen to be in the market for some Gyro threads, the kind folks at Fist2Face have discounted some items on the Official Gyroscope Webstore. Check out the bargains at www.fist2face.com.au/?gyroscope
