Gyroscope September News

Well, August certainly was a busy and exciting portion of the year for our dear Gyroscope, and as such we have a news update teeeming with developments and interesting bits and pieces for you to cast your eyes and ears upon. Ready? Go.

Something that has accompanied Cohesion in a very, uh, Cohesive manner is the stunning video clips that have graced both television and computer screens the country over. First, the stark hot beauty of the West Australian desert for
Some of the Places I Know. Then there was the equally amusing and eye boggling stop motion adventure that was Baby, I'm Gettin' Better. Now we think you will truly delighted with the tense, snowy momentum of the What Do I Know About Pain video.

We don't want to ruin it for you, so will just have to make sure you check out Video Hits tomorrow morning, who will be premiering the video alongside an interview with the boys. If you want to satisfy at least some of your curiosity right now, there are some swell behind the scenes photos to be seen at Fasterlouder.
Now, if the thought of how painstaking the stop-motion Baby, I'm Gettin' Better video must have been to put together (shot in 14 locations over two days and comprised of over 2,500 still images) then you should tell people you're impressed! The fine folks at Deepend have been nominated for an IF Award for the video, and you can support them by clicking here and voting for it. We sure did.

Well, from videos onto shows now. Gyroscope are poised to bring some of their brashest, noisiest antics to the Hunter Valley for the Funk n Grooves Festival this weekend. Rounding out the bill will some of the countries finest such as Spiderbait, British India, Urthboy, Bertie Black and more. Some tickets still available via
www.funkngrooves.com.au so hop to it!

Then it's sights back to home state Western Australia for a period. Gyro's will be headed all the way up to stunning Broome to tear apart The Roey on October 1st followed by what will be a very merry Oktoberfest celebration in Aberdeen Street (tickets for that one via
www.eatingwa.com.au)

Festival news just keeps on rolling out as the summer begins to poke it's head over the horizon. With it comes the very fantastic news that Gyroscope will be packing up and heading over to Victoria for the annual Pyramid Rock Festival. This is one truly bumper line-up including NERD, Chromeo, The Temper Trap, Arrested Development and ute load more. Tickets on sale 9.00am next Tuesday September 14th, and with the rate festivals have been selling of late we suggest you get in quick!

We will leave you with the great news that Daniel & Zok dropped by trusty triple j a couple of weeks back to perform a Like A Version with Tom and Alex. Not only did the boys perform an acoustic version of Baby, I'm Gettin' Better, they busted out a beautiful cover of Bob Marley's classic Redemption Song. But watch this killer video for yourself at the triple j website.

And lastly, did we mention that some of the merch designs from the Cohesion Tour are now for sale at the Gyroscope Official Merch Store? Well, they are, so if you missed out at the shows you can peruse the merchandise right here: www.fist2face.com.au/?gyroscope.

That's it for now. All things Gyro sure are going to heat up with the weather. So plenty more to come soon.

Take care,
Gyro HQ xx
