Gyroscope January News

Welcome to the January News.

Happy New Year to all the dedicated Gyro-nerds out there!

We do hope that you did your best to rock as hard on new years as Gyroscope did. Ringing in the beginning of 2010 at Perth's Capitol's 10th birthday celebrations, the guys were stoked to play for a home town crowd at midnight. It seems a good time was had by all, check out the photos from the night over at Fasterlouder.

While on the topic of photos in general, there are some absolutely killer live shots up on the JD Set website from the Gold Coast date back in November. Have a look, they are sure to get you in the mood for some live Gyroscope action over the coming months (and trust us, there is plenty of that to come, it's set to be a huge year!)

But enough of things for you to see, we are so very very excited about something you can HEAR this month. And that little something you can hear is the very rockin' and very cool Live Without You track. The track is a very sneaky taster of what is to come, with the album finally poised to drop in April 2010! Triple J unleashed the track on unsuspecting listeners last month and it's been getting a flogging. If you yet to hear it fear not, Live Without You is currently ruling the Gyroscope Myspace Player at So have a listen, and turn it up! More for you to destroy your ears with coming soon.

We are also very excited to announce that Gyroscope have joined the bumper bill that will be packing up and going bush for Queensland's' The Lost Weekend this coming March. With the three day camping festival playing host to Dinosaur Jnr, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tumbleweed, Dirty Projectors and so many more it's bound to be a blast (not to mention a lovely setting in which to see the Gyro's) Tickets are still available from:

A couple of months ago we asked to see all those Gyroscope tattoos out there and we have had a slow but steady response. A swag of lovely Gyro fans have sent their pictures and stories in to us. We liked them all so much there is now an album on the Gyroscope Facebook page so you can see them in all their glory. Have a look here. If you have a Gyroscope tattoo you'd like to share send us pictures at We love to see them.

Now keep your eyes trained very carefully to the Gyroscope website, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, mailer - whatever! We have some very exciting and interesting things in store for you this year, starting very, very soon.
